Me, Celeste, Alisa, and Emily all went to see 500 Days of Summer before Alisa had to go back to UC Davis. It was amazing!

I tracked down the beautiful Sally Westcott and spent a lovely afternoon catching up with her amidst a beautiful rose garden just north of campus. Here she sits on the steps partitioning the garden.

…and something strange happened to my pack of film, probably because I changed it mid-dust-storm out on the Playa. It looks as though an amoeba is eating the photo.

To break up the drive home, since I dropped Nathan off at the Reno airport, I stopped in Berkeley for a night. Coincidentally, a lot of other random people were visiting that weekend as well.

Here, Jenny, Elise, and Laura, all Berkeley students, chill in Jenny’s dorm room, along with Jacob, a friend from Arrowbear up visiting with Thomas, Johnny, and Bruce. I told them all to “make faces.”

Finally, the culminating event, the reason the entire festival exists – The Man burns.

You can see how intense the dust storm continued to be, with all the spots in this exposure. I had to wrestle with a new film package mid-ceremony, so I missed a great shot with fireworks, but here’s the man, not too far off, burning, about to fall.
